Thrifty Car Rental has signed an exclusive partnership with The Automobile Association New Zealand.
As of 1 October 2011, “AA Thrifty” is being marketed across New Zealand, including at the 38 AA Centres and 34 Thrifty branches.
Thrifty is owned by NRMA; the AA’s affiliated motoring club in New South Wales. Late last year, all the Australian motoring clubs joined together to offer Thrifty service to their 6.8 million Members.
Bryn McGoldrick, CEO Thrifty Australia and New Zealand, said: “With 244 locations across Australia and New Zealand, Thrifty is looking forward to welcoming AA Members wherever they might be travelling, and delivering friendly, helpful service along with great value and a wide range of exclusive extras.
“I have no doubt that our partnership with the AA will see Thrifty significantly increase its share of the New Zealand rental car market.
“We are now the exclusive rental car company for 7.3 million Australian and New Zealand motoring club Members. We intend to provide quality service and an excellent product to those Members, and we will be using this unique market position to grow our business.”
AA Club Operations General Manager, Peter Moxon, says “Thrifty’s commitment to delivering great Member benefits and service, as well their strong focus on road safety, makes them a natural business partner for the AA.”
Peter continued: “We are particularly pleased by AA Thrifty’s decision to provide motorists with the ANCAP crash safety ratings for their entire rental fleet. This not only shows a good understanding of what is important to the customer, it also recognizes the importance of having safe fleet vehicles on the road.”
To celebrate the launch of AA Thrifty, any AA Member booking a car in New Zealand before 31 January 2012 will be eligible to win one of two cars for a year. This is AA Thrifty’s way of celebrating the launch of this exciting new service to AA Members.
