In a survey of over 2,500 New Zealand consumers, Thrifty Car Rental has achieved the highest five star rating in two key categories as part of the 2014 Canstar Blue award for car hire.

Voted best overall in customer service, and achieving another five star rating for its online and phone booking process, Thrifty was rated close 2nd overall in a competitive race between this year’s six big car hire brands.

Thrifty General Manager New Zealand Emma Gardiner said Thrifty’s success in this year’s survey is testament to her team’s hard work and focus on putting the customer first.

“We’re absolutely thrilled to be leading the field in customer service, which we believe is one of the most important aspects of the car rental experience,” Ms Gardiner said.

“Customer service is what differentiates us from the rest, it’s what can make or break our customers’ holidays, business trips, weekends away; it’s what leaves them with a lasting impression,” she said.

“And to also achieve a five star rating for our booking process is fantastic recognition of the hard work we’ve put in to streamlining our processes and creating a seamless experience for our customers,” she said.
Thrifty also achieved four stars, rating equal second, in the value for money category, as well as cost and fee transparency.

The ratings were based on feedback from consumers who have hired a car in New Zealand over the past 12 months.

Over 350 organisations in Australia and NZ were rated as part of the Canstar Blue survey across a range of categories, including overall satisfaction.

Canstar Blue is an initiative of CANSTAR, rating customer satisfaction across a wide range of products and services to help consumers make better purchase decisions.
